Moses sets Liverpool goal target

Victor Moses, the Chelsea winger on loan at Liverpool, has revealed he has set a goal target for himself during his year-long stay at Anfield, Sky Sports has reported.

Moses moved to the Reds in the summer transfer window and scored on his debut against Swansea City. He hasn’t added to his tally since then but the Nigeria international is aiming to score 20 times before returning to Stamford Bridge.

Moses notched 10 times last season for Chelsea – claiming another two for his country – but has fallen out of favour of late under Brendan Rodgers, making his last three appearances from the bench. “I just want to score goals. I wanted to score around 20 goals this season,” he said.

We’ve still got lots of games to go so hopefully I can get up to that target,” Moses continued. “I think I’ve got the ability to do that so I’m looking forward to every game.

When I first came, I was starting. Now, the manager has got a different view and he wants to mix things around a little bit. I just have to be patient until my time comes. I’ll kick on from there and help the team.

Liverpool – particularly Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez – have been prolific, with the front pair scoring 18 goals between them already this season. Rodgers side are the joint-second highest scorers in the Premier League with 24, the same amount as leaders Arsenal, although Manchester City are some way out in front with 34.
