Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to bid in the region of £52million for Radamel Falcao in an attempt to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge in January, writes the Daily
Mourinho watched the striker in midweek for Columbia against Belgium, but the Portuguese insisted he was watching his Chelsea players Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne.
It is reported that Mourinho has made contact with Falcao’s representatives, and will attempt to capture the forward even if it means sending Fernando Torres the other way to persuade Claudio Ranieri to accept the offer.
Falcao only joined the French club in the summer, but has failed to adapt to the lack of atmosphere in the Stade Louis II, and Mourinho is prepared to offer large sums to reel the South American into West London.
Mourinho is also rumoured to be tracking Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois, who is on loan with Atletico Madrid. Coutois turned down a new contract offer and will return to Chelsea if he is guaranteed the No1 role ahead of Petr Cech.
