Top 5 Players to watch in Week 13 of the Premier League

The Premier League is now entering a very busy period, with three rounds of fixtures coming up in the next week, and here are the top five players to watch during the first10 of those 30 games:

Shinji Kagawa

The Japan star has endured quite a frustrating season, finding himself in and out of the Man Utd starting line-up and not being played in his preferred position, the so-called No.10 role. On Wednesday against Bayer Leverkusen, he was given his chance behind lone striker Wayne Rooney and took it with both hands, showing that he has the passing range and ability to severely test the Tottenham defence on Sunday.

Jesus Navas

Having returned to favour under Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City, Navas delivered his best performance since joining the club in the summer, when he helped dismantle Tottenham last time out. He started and completed the 6-0 rout as Spurs struggled to deal with his pace, and the Spaniard looks certain to give Sunday’s opponents Swansea City plenty of problems.

Shane Long

Shane Long

The Irishman, who so nearly left West Bromwich Albion on transfer deadline day, has hit form, with three goals in his last two Premier League games, including two brilliant finishes in the West Midlands derby against Aston Villa on Monday. There are very few strikers who work harder than Long, so the Newcastle United defence will be not be allowed to rest at any point during Saturday’s game.

Ramires

Southampton will arrive at Stamford Bridge on Sunday with two powerful and strong midfielders in Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama, and Chelsea will look to the hard-working Brazilian to help them gain some kind of advantage in the midfield battle, after they struggled to do so against West Bromwich Albion in their previous home match.

Jack Wilshere

Jack Wilshere

Arsenal have returned to form after their defeat at Manchester United, and Wilshere has played a major role in those two straight victories, with some inventive football against Southampton and both goals in the 2-0 win over Marseille on Tuesday. His contribution has been welcome for the Gunners, with Mesut Ozil suffering a slight dip in form over recent weeks.
