Tottenham are interested in signing Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, and will make a bid for the Mexican in January if they are able to offload Emmanuel Adebayor, according to the Daily
Andre Villas-Boas’ side have long been linked with Hernandez, who is becoming increasingly frustrated at his lack of starts for the champions, with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck often ahead of the 25-year-old in the pecking order. So far this season, Hernandez has made nine appearances, scoring four goals.
The White Hart Lane club are expected to renew their attempts to sign Hernandez in January, but the deal is largely dependent on whether they can find Adebayor a new club. The Togolese forward was close to leaving in the summer, and now finds himself out-of-favour at Spurs, for whom he is yet to make an appearance this season.
Tottenham’s North London rivals, Arsenal, are also said to be interested in Hernandez, who will be aiming to help Mexico reach the World Cup in the coming weeks, but Man Utd are unlikely to want to sell the player before next summer – and to a Premier League rival.
