West Ham United take on London rivals Fulham on Saturday in crucial game between two struggling sides at Upton Park.
This is the first of two massively important fixtures for the Hammers, who go to Crystal Palace on Tuesday, and they come into it having not won in the league since early October. Last time out, they were soundly beaten at home by Chelsea in a match which only served to highlight how limited they currently are in attack, with Blues goalkeeper Petr Cech untested until the dying seconds.
For Fulham, who have not won at West Ham in the Premier League since 2001, things are looking increasingly bleak. Swansea City inflicted upon them their fourth home defeat of the season in their previous game, a result which led to a growing number of the club’s supporters to call for the dismissal of manager Martin Jol, after watching their side lose for the fifth successive game in all competitions.
West Ham are still without strikers Andy Carroll and Mladen Petric, along with defender Winston Reid and midfielders Matt Taylor and Alou Diarra. Razvan Rat could return after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Captain Brede Hangeland is still suffering from a sciatic nerve problem and may not be risked by Fulham, who are without injured striker Hugo Rodallega, and right-back Sascha Riether, who completes a three-match ban.
