Arsenal representatives have been tracking the impressive progress of Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen, who has been compared to Dennis Bergkamp, writes Daily
The 20-year-old scored a hat-trick in front of Arsenal scouts on Saturday, when the Dutch side faced NAC Breda, attracting more attention to the Amsterdam Arena.
Coach Frank de Boer said: ‘Davy is an attacking midfielder who can play centre forward. He’s definitely very talented. Moreover, he’s a smart guy.’
Klaassen is an attacking midfielder, but can also play centre-forward and has been labeled a young Dennis Bergkamp for his creativity and eye for goal.
Already the youngster has scored six goals in 20 games this campaign and is looking promising to make the Holland squad ahead of the World Cup next summer.
He was just 11 when he started with Ajax and has progressed through the ranks to the first-team, where he made his debut in 2011.
He made his first appearance shortly after when he scored during a 3-0 win, but failed to stamp a regular place down into the team.
But the 20-year-old has began this season like a new signing for the club with six goals to his name already.
