Premier League leaders Arsenal will be looking for their fourth successive win in all competitions when they face 10th placed Hull City.
The Gunners were once again in imperious form on Saturday as they swept aside Cardiff City with a performance which suggests they could make a sustained challenge for the title this season. Individually, Aaron Ramsey continues to impress, with displays which are surprising even his manager, Arsene Wenger. Some are still to be convinced, however, and upcoming games against Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea could determine their credentials.
Hull pulled off one of the results of the season so far by beating a below-par Liverpool on Sunday. They stuck to their gameplan throughout, not allowing Brendan Rodgers’ side any time and space inside their half. Yannick Sagbo played a crucial role as the loan striker, and the two second half goals moved them into the top half, which represents a fine start, since they were widely tipped for relegation at the beginning of the season.
For Arsenal, Bacary Sagna has been ruled out with a hamstring strain, so Carl Jenkinson will deputise at right-back. This game comes too soon for Lukas Podolski, while Abou Diaby, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yaya Sanogo are all long-term absentees.
Hull are without captain Curtis Davies for the trip to the Emirates Stadium, after the central defender picked up his fifth yellow card of the campaign against Liverpool. Paul McShane and Stephen Quinn are both injured.
