The 19-year-old, who has caught the eye of both Manchester clubs, immediately apologised for the tackle and said; “It was an unintentional accident”.
He added: “I went to tackle the ball but unfortunately, carried along by my own momentum, I injured Thomas Guerbert. I met him in the changing room. I have been shocked. I apologised to him, his family and everyone. I hope he will come back soon.”
The youngster has 51 senior appearances to his name already and has been capped at Under 21 level on two occasions by France.
