Tony Pulis presides over his first home game in charge of Crystal Palace on Tuesday, when the Eagles take on local rivals West Ham United.
With Cardiff City visiting Selhurst Park on Saturday, this is the first of two vitally important home fixtures for Palace, who are currently rock-bottom of the Premier League after losing at Norwich City, despite a late rally. If they fail to win either match, it would become even more of an uphill struggle for them to stay in the top-flight, something which already looks a tall order.
At the weekend, West Ham picked up a crucial three points of their own, with an easy victory over Fulham, which was only their third league win of the season. They also played with a recognised striker, which made Sam Allardyce’s team look much more of a threat going forward, and Carlton Cole also made a goalscoring return to the team, grabbing the second in a dominant performance, which saw them move three points clear of the drop zone.
Crystal Palace will again be without Yannick Bolasie, who is still suspended due to his red card at Hull City. Jack Hunt, Patrick McCarthy and Glenn Murray are all absent through injury.
The visitors must decide whether to hand Carlton Cole his first start since returning to the club, while Ravel Morrison and George McCartney are both pushing for recalls.
