Victory for Manchester City away to struggling Fulham will be enough for Manuel Pellegrini’s side to move above current Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Fulham could not build on their impressive performance against Aston Villa as they slipped to their annual defeat at Everton in their previous game. Despite that, under Rene Meulensteen, they continue to show more fight, with the three-goal margin of defeat at Goodison Park arguably a little harsh due to their efforts in the second half.
There are few sides in Europe looking more formidable than Man City at present, but they are still yet to sort their away form out, at least domestically. Should they manage to do that, they will surely be favourites to regain the Premier League title, as they look truly unstoppable at home. Sergio Aguero’s injury is also a major blow, and this will be a tough test for the 2012 champions.
The Cottagers are still without striker Hugo Rodallega and captain Brede Hangeland, but are hoping that Fernando Amorebieta and Darren Bent will be fit enough to feature.
Besides Aguero, who could be replaced by Edin Dzeko, Man City are without Matija Nastasic and Micah Richards, while Pablo Zabaleta will be assessed ahead of the game.
