Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that winger Raheem Sterling will not be leaving the club on loan during the January transfer window, reports ESPN.
That was his third Premier League goal having netted against Reading and Sunderland last season, during which he broke into the starting XI and was a regular for several months, which saw him earn his first senior England cap. However, since January he has been used more sparingly, making just five starts in the top-flight in 2013.
And with Sturridge unavailable, Rodgers has been forced to rethink his initial plans. He said: “Raheem has been in the squad, he has featured in a lot of games and he has started the last two so certainly at this moment in time, we wouldn’t be considering it [a loan move].’
