Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet does not believe the constant changes to the team’s defence is the reason for a lack of clean sheets this season, writes Mirror.
With Champions League qualification in sight, Mignolet is hopeful of picking up more clean sheets as the Premier League enters the hectic festive period.
“I work day in day out with the lads and I know what they can do,” he said. “All the defenders here are very talented, organised, motivated and concentrated. They are doing their very best to make sure we don’t concede.
“They are all professional enough to deal with any changes. Martin Kelly came on at a difficult moment in the game against West Ham when we were struggling a bit and did well.
“It doesn’t matter for me as a keeper who is in front of me. It’s just about doing your job.”
The Belgian keeper has conceded 18 goals this campaign, and have the worst defensive record out of the top six sides in the table.
But the Reds are in fine form having hammered both Norwich City and West Ham at Anfield 5-1 and 4-1, as they head to White Hart Lane on Sunday.
After their trip to Tottenham, Rodgers’ side face Cadiff City, Manchester City, Chelsea and Hull – who beat Liverpool 3-1 last weekend.
