Mourinho concerned by Chelsea after defeat at Stoke

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that his side are ‘in trouble’, BBC Sport has reported, after they slipped to their third Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday, 3-2 at Stoke City.

Andre Schurrle gave Chelsea the lead 10 minutes into a first half that they dominated, but despite creating several chances, they went in at half time level at 1-1 after Peter Crouch capitalised on some hesitant defending from the Blues.

Stoke took the lead early in the second half when Stephen Ireland found the bottom corner, only for Schurrle to equalise minutes later. However, the hosts were not to be denied a first Premier League win over Chelsea when Oussama Assaidi struck late on.

It was the second time in four days that Chelsea had conceded three goals, meaning that they have only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 games, and a frustrated Mourinho said: “I don’t feel comfortable enough to tell you what I think about the game. We’re in trouble. It is a concern [conceding so many goals]. I don’t like it, I don’t organise my teams to be like this.”

“I could see that result happening because after half an hour we should have been winning three or four nil – and we weren’t. The three players behind the striker [Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Schurrle] were playing so well, creating so much, but you have to kill the game. Normally you kill the game but we didn’t.’
