Man United striker Danny Welbeck is determined to take his chance in the first team during Robin van Persie’s absence, according to ManUtd.com.

The 23-year-old has featured primarily as a striker out wide this season, but is hoping that a spell in the center will help prove his worth in a Man United team that is undergoing considerable transition.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Welbeck said: “Obviously it is not my decision about where I play. As I have said plenty of times before, I am happy to play for Manchester United in any of the attacking positions.
“Unfortunately, Robin has got injured, and I might have a chance up front so I am looking to score some goals for United while playing as a centre-forward.
“I want to score plenty more goals and I have got a figure in mind.”
