Aston Villa have made an enquiry to League One promotions hopefuls Wolverhampton Wanderers over the possibility of signing striker Leigh Griffiths, according to the Metro.
Local rivals Villa are looking for reinforcements in attack with Libor Kozak guaranteed to miss the rest of the season, and sealing a deal for Griffiths would see manager Paul Lambert return to his former policy of signing promising young players from below the top-flight of English football.
A transfer fee of £2m has been mooted for the 23-year-old, who is reportedly keen to move to a club in a higher division. Celtic and Swansea City are also said to be in the running to sign Griffiths, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2015.
