Tony Pulis comes up against former club Stoke City for the first time since leaving in May, as Crystal Palace look to move off the bottom of the table.
A run of one point from a possible nine has slightly hindered Crystal Palace’s survival bid, and they arguably should have taken something from their last game, at Tottenham. Jason Puncheon’s wayward penalty was eventually punished by the home side, which, coupled with wins for Sunderland and West Ham United, condemned the Eagles to last place, behind the Wearsiders on goal difference.
Stoke have had a turbulent few weeks, and are in need of a win themselves to pull clear of the drop zone. There will have been plenty of positives for manager Mark Hughes to take from their attacking display against Liverpool, where they caused their high-flying opponents multiple problems and never let them rest easily, but their biggest downfall was the fact that their defence looked petrified at the mere sight of Luis Suarez.
Jack Hunt, Glenn Murray and Jerome Thomas remain out for the home side, who are also likely to be without Kagisho Dikgacoi and Yannick Bolasie. Cameron Jerome is unable to play against his parent club.
Striker Kenwyne Jones will be absent for Stoke after refusing to play against Liverpool. Robert Huth, Asmir Begovic and Andy Wilkinson are all injured.
