Fulham are close to securing the signing of Everton defender John Heitinga, according to Sky
The 30-year-old has been looking for an exit from Goodison Park and could be heading to London following talks with Fulham.
The Dutch international is set to undergo a medical at Craven Cottage ahead of a switch despite previously looking likely to move abroad.
The defender previously turned down an Everton departure with West Ham and looked to be moving overseas with Roma and Galatasaray showing interest in the player.
Heitinga is out of contract at the end of the season could replace Fulham’s Aaron Hughes, who has joined QPR.
Despite being named Everton’s player of the year for 2012 he has fallen out of favour under manager Roberto Martinez.
The Dutchman has been keen to leave the club and a move would offer him a better chance of gaining first-team football ahead of the World Cup in the summer after losing out to Spain in the 2010 final.
