Hull City will be looking to halt their slide with a win against a Tottenham side aiming to join fourth-placed Liverpool on 46 points.
Having taken no points from away games against Norwich City and Crystal Palace, Hull will be nervously looking over their shoulders, as they are no longer in the secure mid-table position they had been in for much of the campaign. Their home record is good, but what they need is goals, particularly from new signings Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long, who are both not yet off the mark.
Tottenham will be ecstatic that they do not have to face Manchester City again this season. Another thrashing, this time at home, has given Liverpool the ascendency in the race for the top four, but it was only new Head Coach Tim Sherwood’s first league defeat in charge. Due to Hull’s steely defence, it could be creative players such as Christian Eriksen who make the difference at the KC Stadium.
Allan McGregor begins a three match ban after his late dismissal against Crystal Palace. Hull are also without James Chester and Sone Aluko.
Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela are unlikely to feature for Tottenham due to a lack of match fitness, while the North London club are still waiting for the outcome of Danny Rose’s red card appeal.
