Chelsea veterans John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole are to be awarded new contracts at Stamford Bridge ESPN
With the contracts of Lampard, 35, and Terry and Cole, both 33, all ending in the summer, news of potential new deals will end the speculation that has surrounded their futures at the club.
In particular left-back Cole, whose position has become under threat this season from Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Midfielder Lampard signed a one-year deal at the end of last season, having been close to leaving the club he joined in 2001. The England man has made 18 league appearances this season, netting four goals.
ESPN added that The Sun have claimed Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen to extend the trio’s contracts having worked with them during his first stint at the club.
All three players played vital parts in Mourinho’s debut season in the Premier League, 2004-05, which saw the manager guide Chelsea to a league and cup double.
