Manchester City will be aiming to continue to fight on all four fronts by seeing off Watford in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Having cantered to the Capital One Cup final on Tuesday evening, Man City return home, where they recovered from a slow start to put five goals past Watford’s Championship rivals, Blackburn Rovers, in their third round replay. They have since scored four at the Etihad Stadium against Cardiff City, so it is difficult to see anything other than a home win on Saturday.
The Hornets were eliminated by Man City at the third round stage last season when they lost 3-0, but this time around, losing by that scoreline would by far from a disgrace given the Citizen’s home record. Giuseppe Sannino has only won once since taking over from Gianfranco Zola shortly before Christmas, and he is likely to take the cautious approach for this encounter.
Alvaro Negredo could miss out for Man City after picking up a shoulder injury late on at West Ham United. Samir Nasri is unlikely to be back until March.
Watford defender Fitz Hall is suspended after being involved in an incident at Bournemouth last time out which saw teammate Gabriele Angella sent off in what was a case of mistaken identity.
