Two sides who claimed their first wins of 2014 last time out meet at Carrow Road as Norwich City boss Chris Hughton takes on former club Newcastle United.
After pressurising Hull City for much of the second half, Norwich finally made the breakthrough, with Ryan Bennett scoring a goal which has given Hughton some relief having come under increasing pressure from the home supporters. Scoring goals still remains a problem, however, with record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel in particular not making the desired impact.
Newcastle come into this off the back of a marvellous display at West Ham United, where they ran out fairly comprehensive winners, and ensured that they closed the gap on the Premier League’s top four in what has been an impressive season so far. However, it now looks as if Yohan Cabaye, who scored twice at Upton Park, is set to join Paris St. Germain in what would be a hammer blow for the Magpies.
Jonathan Howson and Michael Turner are both injury absentees for Norwich, who are also unable to call upon Jonas Gutierrez, who cannot play against his parent club.
Mathieu Debuchy made his debut for Newcastle away to Norwich just over a year ago, and he returns from suspension to take his place in the team here. Fabricio Coloccini and Gael Bigirimana are both injured.
