Real Madrid’s Morata rules out move to England

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has insisted that he would like to stay with the Spanish giants, despite interest from several Premier League clubs, the Daily Express has reported.

Morata has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, while fellow Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham are also reportedly in the race to sign the 21-year-old, who scored four goals to help Spain win the 2013 European U-21 Championship. So far this season, he has made 17 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring three goals.

The newspaper adds that Tottenham enquired about the possibility of Real Madrid including Morata in their world record deal to sign Gareth Bale during the summer, while more recently rumours have surfaced that Arsenal and Liverpool have been looking to sign the Spaniard on loan.

However, Morata has spoken with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, and has told the Italian that he would like to stay at the Bernabeu. Morata said: “I have spoken with the club and the coach and told them I want to stay here.

“This is the team I have spent my entire life at and I will stay here and do whatever the club asks of me or needs of me, even if it’s to play a minimal amount of games.”
