Swansea City could delve into the transfer window for a new midfielder following the injuries to Jose Canas and Jonathon de Guzman, according to BBC
The Welsh side are struggling in the league with six key players, including Michu and Michel Vorm, on the treatment table.
“Things changed dramatically when we lost Jonathan de Guzman and Jose Canas in the space of a few days,” said manager Michael Laudrup.
“The injury to Canas will probably keep him out for about four weeks, and suddenly we only had two (fit) midfield players.
The Danish boss considered calling back Ki Sung-Yeung from his loan at Sunderland but the official date on the agreement has already passed.
“Then I looked into the possibility of bringing Ki back, but the loan agreement said it should have been done by the end of December, so it’s not a possibility,” added Laudrup.
The Swans have failed to win in their last seven Premier League games and currently sit three points above the relegation zone.
The club will travel to Tottenham next in a crucial month for their Premier League season.
