West Ham United are interested in signing former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles, who is interested in a return to England, according to the Daily
Meireles originally came to England when Roy Hodgson brought him to Liverpool in the summer of 2010. Despite showing impressive form for the Reds, he was allowed to leave by Kenny Dalglish a year later.
After helping Chelsea to sensationally win the Champions League in 2012, he left for Fenerbahce, but has endured a disappointing year and-a-half with the Turkish club, despite being part of the side which reached the semi-finals of the Europa League last season.
This season, he has made just nine appearances for Fenerbahce, and the Portugal international is reportedly keen on coming back to England to resurrect his career.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce may see the 30-year-old as a potential replacement for Ravel Morrison, who is being targeted by Premier League rivals Fulham. Marco Borriello is also among the Hammers’ midfield targets, with a number of clubs chasing the Roma player.
