Beckham backs Moyes to succeed at Man Utd

David Beckham believes David Moyes will eventually get it right at Manchester United, ESPN has reported.

United, the defending Premier League champions, are currently eighth in the table, 15 points short of leaders Arsenal and seven points adrift of Liverpool, who hold the final Champions League qualification place.

Beckham, speaking after announcing his intention to open an MLS franchise in Miami, offered his support to the former Everton manager.

“Any season that we’re not on top of the league, is a tough season. We, as a Manchester United fan and ex-Manchester United player, we’re used to winning championships,” Beckham said.

“We’re used to being at the top of the league all the way through the season, so when that doesn’t happen, obviously people think, outside of the club, that there’s a crisis.

“I don’t see it as a crisis. I see it as a transitional period. We win two games, we’re in fifth, fourth place. It’s simple as that, and then things start looking rosy again.”

Beckham added that he believes his fellow United supporters have faith in Moyes to succeed as well, but are waiting for results to turn around.
