David Beckham has said that he is jealous of his former Manchester United teammates who are now a part of his old side’s coaching staff, according to ESPN.
“A little bit,” Beckham replied when asked if he felt jealous of the players who have landed roles with United.
Ryan Giggs and Phil Neville joined the Manchester side’s first team coaching staff alongside manager David Moyes, whereas former midfielders Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes now coach the club’s under-21 side.
“When my eldest son came up here to train for a week, I saw Butty training the U21s, Phil with the first team and Scholesy with Butty.”
Despite his envy, the former England man admitted that he always had the club’s best intentions at heart and remains a big fan of the club where he enjoyed great success in his career.
“It’s great to see they are still part of the club and training the young kids. There is nothing better than to have players like that, who you’ve seen being successful over the years, training the young kids. That’s what Manchester United do,” added Beckham.
