Man Utd winger Januzaj rejects Kosovo approach

Adnan Januzaj has rejected an offer to play for Kosovo, the Daily Telegraph has reported, with the Manchester United winger remaining eligible to play for a number of countries.

Kosovo play an international friendly next month, against Haiti, and Januzaj was offered the chance to turn out for Kosovo, the place of birth of his parents.

Januzaj was however born in Belgium and could play for the Red Devils, and is also eligible to turn out for Albania, as his parents are Kosovo-Albanians. Januzaj could also represent England after 2017, when he will fulfil the residential criteria laid down by FIFA.

The Kosovo vs. Haiti fixture is not an official friendly as Kosovo are not yet members of FIFA and as such, Januzaj could have turned out for the Eastern European state and still pledged allegiance to one of the other countries seeking his participation, but has chosen not to.

Januzaj has broken into the United senior team this season under David Moyes, making 26 appearances for the Premier League and scoring three goals.
