Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes Eden Hazard is unappreciated and should have his ability recognised more widely, the
Hazard scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s win over Newcastle on Saturday, days after the Belgium international impressed in Chelsea’s win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The victory over the Magpies took Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table as City drew with Norwich and Arsenal were soundly beaten by Liverpool. Mourinho’s side have a one point lead over the Gunners and are two clear of Manuel Pellegrini’s challengers.
But Mourinho feels Hazard deserves something tangible to show for his good form. “Maybe with the hat-trick he has the chance to win one day the player of the month,” the manager said.
“Because he never gets that. I would like my guy to win it once, so please do something. Help me.
“I think a team is made of 11 guys, but obviously he is special,” Mourinho added on the former Lille midfielder. “I think in this moment he’s the best young player in the world.”
