Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has welcomed speculation linking Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard with a move to the Ligue 1 champions, Sky
Hazard starred for Chelsea in their win over Newcastle on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick in the 3-0 victory. He moved to Stamford Bridge from French outfit Lille in 2012, having helped Les Dogues to the title in his penultimate season.
Silva revealed that PSG’s wealthy owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, regularly discusses transfer targets with the senior players and that the players will talk about who they would like to see at the club between each other, with Hazard’s name coming up regularly.
“It is normal that a president discusses transfers with the players,” Silva said. “When there is a new name in the press, the president discusses it with us.
“Sometimes I speak directly with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic). It’s normal to ask ourselves if a player can make us stronger. I would welcome Hazard with open arms, like we did all recruits.
“We need players like him to achieve our project and win everything. He is so strong tactically and technically. All the great players are welcome in Paris.”
PSG are currently five points clear of Monaco at the top of Ligue 1 after the two sides drew 1-1 on Saturday, Silva scoring an own goal to put Monaco level.
