Champions League chasing duo Tottenham and Everton meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday looking to gain an advantage in the race for fourth spot.
Tottenham will be aiming to bounce back after taking just one point from their last two games. Having been taken apart by Manchester City, they then found themselves staring at a defeat away to Hull City, only for Paulinho to salvage a share of the spoils. Throughout the season, Spurs have struggled against the leading teams, something which Tim Sherwood will be hoping to put right.
Victory over Aston Villa last time out summed up the spirit of Everton under Roberto Martinez. The Spaniard’s positivity is admirable, and when it seemed that they might be heading for a second consecutive defeat, the Toffees produced the perfect response to their Merseyside derby mauling. Should Liverpool lose to Arsenal on Saturday, a win here would lift Everton back up to fourth.
Tottenham’s only injury absentee is Erik Lamela, who is still suffering from a thigh injury. Andros Townsend and Mousa Dembele should be fit enough to start.
Lacina Traore could make his debut for Everton, while fellow loanee Gerard Deulofeu has returned to fitness. Seamus Coleman could also return for a side without Darron Gibson, Arouna Kone and Bryan Oviedo.
