Arsene Wenger believes Tomas Rosicky will sign a new contract to remain at Arsenal for another season, Sky
Rosicky scored the Gunners’ third goal in the 4-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday and Wenger said after that the deal to keep the Czech Republic international is already complete.
“Tomas Rosicky will stay,” Wenger said. “We have an agreement with him and it will come out soon. I am absolutely adamant he has to stay at the club.”
Wenger praised Rosicky’s contribution to the win over the Black Cats, commending the midfielder for his ability to change the pace of the Arsenal attack.
“He is maybe one of the players who plays the game of give and move, is a great accelerator of the game,” Wenger continued. “When the ball comes to him it is ‘boof’. It is second gear now and that is something I admire in him.
“He makes always things happen, not with individual dribbling but with individual acceleration of his passing and of his runs.”
Rosicky has been at Arsenal since the summer of 2006, when he moved to London from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. He has made more than 200 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 24 goals – having scored 24 times for Dortmund in 186 games.
