Arsenal defender Sagna offered a deal by Man City

Manchester City have offered Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna to make a summer move to the Etihad Stadium by offering the Frenchman a three-year contract, according to the Guardian.

Sagna, whose contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the season, is currently being strongly linked with a move to Inter. Erick Thohir, the Italian club’s president has already spoken of his desire to bring Sagna to the San Siro in the summer to join Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic.

Arsenal have made several attempts to persuade Sagna to extend his contract, but negotiations have stalled as the Gunners are unwilling to offer the 31-year-old a three-year contract, and he know that he can get those terms at Man City as well as an increase to his £50,000 per week salary.

A first-team regular throughout his time in North London, Sagna arrived in 2007, but has grown increasingly frustrated at the lack of silverware the club has won in that time. However, if he leaves, he could lose his regular starting place, with Pablo Zabaleta and Micah Richards among Man City’s options at right-back.

Should Sagna move, he would become the fifth player to join Man City from Arsenal is recent seasons, after Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Kolo Toure.
