Their poor Premier League campaign has included six home defeats, most recently the 3-0 reverse against bitter rivals Manchester City, and some of the club’s supporters are beginning to show their discontent, with an aeroplane set to fly over Old Trafford calling for Moyes’ removal, during the early stages of Saturday’s game.
However, the 50-year-old claims that fellow Scot Ferguson would have found it difficult had he remained in charge for this season. He said: “People are aware there is a squad that is a bit more ageing, so I think it would have been a tough season for whoever was in charge of Manchester United this year. And I actually think if Sir Alex was here this year it would be difficult for Sir Alex as well and I’m sure he would be aware of it.”
