In-form Liverpool will be looking for their eighth consecutive Premier League victory when Tottenham visit Anfield on Sunday.
The game against Sunderland on Wednesday was not Liverpool’s most convincing performance of their excellent recent run, but the Reds got the result they wanted to move to within just a point of leaders Chelsea, who they still have to face at home as well as fellow title hopefuls Manchester City. Issues still remain is defence, but Brendan Rodgers has the Premier League’s best attacking options at his disposal at present.
Despite a wonderful comeback and a 3-2 victory over Southampton last time out, matters concerning Tim Sherwood’s future at the club continue to dominate the headlines at Tottenham. It certainly looks likely that Louis van Gaal will replace the current Head Coach for next season, but Sherwood’s immediate focus is to try and keep Liverpool out, and if he continues to play a high line in defence, that would be a tough ask.
Liverpool could go with an unchanged team for the third game in a row, with Jose Enrique still their only injury absentee.
The visitors could welcome back Emmanuel Adebayor after injury, but defenders Vlad Chiriches and Kyle Walker remain unavailable.
