The striker is also a doubt for the top of the Premier League table meeting with Arsenal that follows. City first go to Old Trafford on Tuesday and then play the Gunners on the following Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
Aguero has suffered from a hamstring problem throughout the second half of the season and although he started the Champions League second leg game against Barcelona, he had to be withdrawn partway through after the injury again flared up.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini told a Press conference prior to City’s game against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday that as yet, there was no timetable for the Argentine to return.
“We don’t know yet,” Pellegrini confirmed. “Maybe next week he will start working with the squad. But I don’t think that it will be the whole week. Maybe at end of the week he can be with the squad starting training. For United? No chance.”
City are currently fourth in the league table, six points behind leaders Chelsea but with three games in hand on Jose Mourinho’s team. As well as United and Arsenal, City also have to play title challengers Liverpool, going to Anfield on April 13.
