Pepe Mel has targeted four wins from West Brom’s final 10 games of the season in order to stay in the Premier League for next season, Sky
West Brom play Swansea City on Saturday and go into the game in 17th, level on points with third-bottom Cardiff City, having played a game more than the Welsh side. Swansea, meanwhile, are 14th, four points better off than the Baggies.
Mel nevertheless wants Albion to take at least 12 points between now and the climax of the season, starting against the Swans.
“It is possible to win four more games – and, indeed, win more than that,” he told a pre-match Press conference. “But we just have to think about the next game and winning that one. I’m not thinking about there being 10 games, I’m just thinking about there being one game. “We must take each game as it comes and always be thinking about the next one.”
Mel has been in charge at the Hawthorns since January after replacing Steve Clarke as Head Coach but has yet to win a league game. His tenure began with a 1-1 home draw with Everton and West Brom have also tied with Liverpool, Chelsea and Fulham, but lost to Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Manchester United.
