Nasri: Man City have nothing to lose

Samir Nasri has called on Manchester City to give it their all against Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday, Sky Sports has reported.

City trail the Spanish side 2-0 from the first leg and no team has ever overturned such a deficit after losing the first leg at home. But Nasri spoke to French newspaper L’Equipe and said City need to go out and attack from the first whistle.

“We have nothing more to lose,” the midfielder said. “We have to go out there with the will to attack and put them under pressure.

“Barcelona is a team that likes to keep the ball, but that doesn’t like to defend. They are not used to defending. We have chances.

“When they took the lead we had nothing to lose so we decided to put pressure and we could see they lost the ball, kicked away. That is the way we have to play at Camp Nou.”

A Lionel Messi penalty after Martin Demichelis was sent off and a late Dani Alves second gave Barca the win at the Etihad Stadium. City will be without manager Manuel Pellegrini, who was banned by UEFA after criticising the referee after the match.
