Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will face four weeks on the sideline after a scan revealed a hamstring strain, according to BBC
The 25-year-old picked up the injury in the second minute of the Champions League second-leg match against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, but continued to play on until half time.
The German will now join fellow midfielders Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey, who has not featured since the New Year, on the treatment table.
The club’s record signing will now miss the North London derby against Tottenham on Sunday as well as vital games against Chelsea, Swansea, Manchester City and Everton, as the season winds down.
The midfielder is also a doubt for the Gunners’ FA Cup semi-final match against Wigan, as Arsenal look to end an eight year trophy drought.
Despite the growing numbers of midfielders on the injury list, Kim Kallstrom could make his debut for the club after recovering from a back injury which has kept him out since joining on loan in January.
