Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will be out of action for at least six weeks after fracturing his foot, according to BBC
The 22-year-old was injured in the 12th minute of England’s 1-0 friendly win over Denmark on Wednesday night.
Despite the injury, the midfield man continued to play until the 59th minute and now looks set to be out for over a month for the Gunners.
Wilshere’s injury was initially not thought to be serious after he underwent a scan by the FA but a further check by his club revealed that had cracked his navicular bone.
The England international will now miss Arsenal’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Everton on Saturday as well as the Champions League last-16 second leg against Bayern Munich.
Wilshere’s absence will come at a crucial time for the Gunners and is likely to miss games against rivals Chelsea and Manchester City as they make their title push in the final stretch of the season.
