Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has told of his frustration at the inconsistency that his side has shown as the Blues threaten to end the season without a trophy, Sky
The resounding 6-0 victory over Arsenal on March 22 is Chelsea’s only win in the last three Premier League games. Either side of that they have slipped to shock away defeats to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, and also lost the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris St. Germain on Wednesday.
These result results have meant that Chelsea are at risk of ending a season without silverware for the first time since 2011. As it stands, they are still only two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool – who they still have to face at Anfield – but Mourinho has already appeared to rule out the possibility of winning the title.
And on Friday, he bemoaned the inconsistency that his side has shown in recent weeks. He said: “I don’t know if we are going to have a fantastic performance or not. Part of the stability of the top teams, of the teams full of people with experience, is exactly that stability.
“We are the team that during the season we have ups and downs. We have players that were not capable to keep a platform of stability in their performances. We had a few players with these ups and downs.”
