Mourinho unhappy with lack of respect for Chelsea

Chelsea manger Jose Mourinho believes his side deserve more respect from the Premier League for what his club have achieved for English football, as he faces a selection headache ahead of his side’s crunch league clash with Liverpool this weekend, the Independent has reported.

With the game at Anfield sandwiched in-between the Champions League semi-final double header with Atletico Madrid, and injuries to John Terry, Eden Hazard, Petr Cech and Samuel Eto’o, the Portuguese is considering wholesale changes for the league clash on Sunday.

Mourinho is unhappy that his side haven’t had the game with Liverpool rescheduled to give them the best opportunity in Europe with the second leg against Atletico next Wednesday.

He said: “I think Chelsea fans would like Chelsea Football Club to be respected and to get the respect Chelsea Football Club deserves.

“They know what Chelsea did, not just for Chelsea Football Club, but for English football.

“They’ve been the most important club to defend this country in European competitions. They won the Champions League, they won the Europa League, they think Chelsea deserve more respect that they are getting,” he added.

Chelsea will be without Terry, Cech, Hazard and Eto’o, who are all injured, while Ramires will also sit the game out after receiving a four-game ban for an incident involving Seb Larsson in the recent league defeat against Sunderland.

The Blues go into the game at Anfield five points behind Liverpool, who are currently on an 11 game winning streak and seven points from claiming their first league title for 24 years.
