Bacary Sagna has denied he has been in contact with Premier League champions Manchester City as his Arsenal contract enters its final weeks, Sky
It had been claimed that Sagna was on the verge of a switch to the Etihad Stadium, having been unable to agree terms on a new deal with the Gunners. But the right-back has said that’s not the case, and his future won’t be settled until after the World Cup.
“Have I already signed a contract with Manchester City? No, that is not true,” he told Telefoot. “My situation will be sorted out before the World Cup, but I haven’t signed for anyone so far. We all have our own destiny and I will try to find mine.”
Sagna signed for Arsenal in 2007 and has to date made almost 300 appearances for Arsenal since he left Auxerre. The 31-year-old claimed his first trophy as an Arsenal player at the end of the season, helping Arsene Wenger’s side to an FA Cup win over Hull City.
He has also been included in the France squad for the World Cup and already has 39 caps for Les Bleus, but missed Euro 2012 with a broken leg.
