Aston Villa and Hull to battle for Augsburg midfielder Vogt

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert and Hull City manager Steve Bruce look set to do battle for the services of Augsburg midfielder Kevin Vogt, according to The Independent.

The 22-year-old is wanted as both clubs look to strengthen their squads ahead of continued Premier League football next season, and the 6ft 5in midfielder has enjoyed a growing reputation in a side quickly becoming renowned for their counter attacking in the Bundesliga this term.

Villa may prove to be the front runners of the two, with Hull’s attentions also looking toward bringing Jake Livermore, who has spent this season on loan at the KC Stadium, from Tottenham on a permanent deal.

Vogt has represented the German national side at every level from U-18 onwards, barring the senior squad thus far.
