Inter technical director Piero Ausilio has confirmed that the Italian giants are in the race to sign Blackpool winger Thomas Ince, Sky
Ince – whose father Paul played for Inter – spent the final four months of the season on loan at Crystal Palace, which was his first experience of top-flight football. During that time he scored once, on his debut against West Bromwich Albion on February 8.
The 22-year-old is set to leave Blackpool this summer, particularly as his contract with the manager-less Championship club runs out at the end of June. He joined the Tangerines in 2011 from Liverpool, where he had been part of the youth system.
While Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis has spoken of his desire to sign Ince on a permanent deal over the summer, Ince’s future remains unclear, but Ausilio has moved to confirm the widespread rumours that Inter were among the clubs chasing his signature.
He said: “He’s a young player with an expiring contract who is weighing up several offers. It’s definitely not a done deal for Ince. It’s an intriguing possibility, him coming here in his father’s footsteps.”
