Man Utd midfielder Shinji Kagawa will not be leaving the club this summer despite previously being reported as heading for the exit door, according to ENTER
It had been reported that the Japan international would be leaving the Red Devils after failing to make a big impact as yet during his stint in English football, with Italian outfit Napoli said to be leading the queue for his signature. The player’s agent, however, does not expect to see his client going anywhere, and insists Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has not been in touch regarding the midfielder’s availability.
Speaking to Ultimecalcionapoli.it, agent Thomas Kroth said: “Has Benitez made contact with Kagawa? These are just rumours.
“He is not unhappy at Manchester United, so there’s no reason to talk about him departing to another club.”
Kagawa moved to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in 2012, but after making 20 Premier League starts in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season as United boss – a season which saw the club lift their 21st English title – but has been named in the starting 11 only 13 times this season, and has struggled to hold down much in the way of regular football.
