Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna is set have formal talks with Manchester City after Saturday’s FA Cup final, according to the Daily
Throughout the season, Sagna has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, possibly to provide back-up to current first-choice right-back Pablo Zabaleta. The rumours have surfaced due to a continued breakdown in contract talks with Arsenal, with his current deal coming to an end at the beginning of July.
Victory over Hull City at Wembley would give Sagna his first silverware after seven years at Arsenal, who he joined from Auxerre in the summer of 2007, but the Frenchman is looking increasingly unwilling to extend his stay, despite being offered heftily improved terms. In his stay at the Emirates Stadium, he has made 283 appearances, scoring five goals.
As Sagna will become a free agent this summer, he will be able to negotiate with any club he wants, but Man City appear to be the frontrunners to claim his signature, as they are reportedly willing to offer the 31-year-old a three-year contract worth £100,000 per week.
