Several foreign clubs are chasing the signature of Newcastle defender Steven Taylor, Sky
The 28-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Tyneside club this season and has made just ten appearances for the team under Alan Pardew.
Several overseas clubs are reportedly attempting to sign the former Magpies captain with Valencia and Fenerbahce thought to be the two front-runners for the player’s signature.
“There are several clubs who are interested in Steven,” said Taylor’s agent, Jonathon Hope.
“He has been at Newcastle for 10 years and he loves the club and the fans.
“I think that was obvious from his celebration after scoring last week against Cardiff.
“His focus is on Sunday’s game with Liverpool, but interest to secure his services should he leave Newcastle is high.”
The defender came through the ranks at the club and has been a stalwart in recent years but he looks to be making an exit from his boyhood club.
Taylor still has two years left on his current deal at Newcastle but with first team opportunities hard to come by he may seek first-team football elsewhere.
