With just two games left, Fulham have it all to do to achieve Premier League survival and they go to Stoke City knowing that defeat could see them relegated depending on other results.
Stoke slipped to a rare home defeat in their previous game against Tottenham, a fiery encounter which left manager and supporters alike believing that most of the key decisions from the referee had gone against them. In spite of that, they are still on course to finish in the top half of the Premier League for the first time and reach their highest points tally, so they still have plenty to aim for.
This match is much more important for the visitors, however, after they threw away a two-goal lead to draw with Hull City. It was a result which could ultimately decide their fate, as two goals in four minutes looked to have them cruising, only to give to very avoidable goals away. Manager Felix Magath remains as defiant as ever about the club’s survival chances, although he will now be all too aware that time is running out.
The home side have something of a dilemma in central defence with Ryan Shawcross serving a suspension. Young Spaniard Marc Muniesa could replace him.
Fulham could hand a start to Ashkan Dejagah, who scored as a substitute against Hull. Striker Kostas Mitroglou could feature for the first time in several weeks, but Steve Sidwell is doubtful.
