Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has moved to clarify comments that he made about the prospect of joining French champions Paris St. Germain, Sky
Toure’s future with the Premier League winners has come under question in recent weeks after his agent suggested that he had felt disrespected and underappreciated by the club’s owners. The Ivorian initially backed up the claims before admitting that he would like to return to Barcelona before the end of his career.
On Tuesday, the 31-year-old then appeared to suggest that he would interested in a move to PSG, who are reportedly interested in claiming his signature, as they see him as a possible midfield partner for the combative Blaise Matuidi.
However, Toure has now stated that his focus is on the World Cup, and that nothing has been decided yet. He said: “Too many things have been said, that annoyed me. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to put things into context. It’s very important.
“I simply said that it was nice to be a player who is quite coveted and it was an honour to play for PSG. My goal is the World Cup. The country awaits us.”
