Barcelona to add bite clause to Suarez deal

Barcelona are reportedly set to offer Liverpool forward Luis Suarez a deal that could see him earn £40m, but will insert a ‘bite clause’ to ensure his behaviour is maintained, according to reports.

Suarez has been shamed at this summer’s World Cup after he was caught biting Italian defender Georgio Chiellini on the shoulder as they clashed during their group game – and subsequently FIFA imposed a nine match international ban and a staggering four month ban from all football activity.

However the Catalan giants are still eager to sign the Uruguayan, who had his FIFA accreditation revoked for the competition and sent home, and are said to be plotting a five year contract of £160,000 a week for the striker to move to Spain.

The contract will contain special clauses in a bid to ensure the players behaviour is nothing short of exemplary, and also win over fans who may be doubters of the move.

Suarez amazingly has now bitten three opponents during his career, as well as being found guilty of racial abuse, but is set to fight the most recent ban after claiming the clash was nothing other than accidental after losing balance.

And Barcelona are willing to back him in his attempts to have the ban rescinded or at the very least reduced as they attempt to carve out a deal for the star.
